FAN SITE END USER LICENSE
Electronic Arts Inc, and its subsidiaries, affiliates and licensors (collectively, "EA")
grants you a non- transferable license to download one copy of the graphics, sound files,
and other materials accompanying this license (the "Materials"), onto a single computer
solely for your personal noncommercial use of the Materials on your Fan Site. "Fan Site"
shall mean a personal, noncommercial web site, created by you, that is freely accessible
to the public and dedicated to promoting one or more games published and operated by EA.
EA and its Licensors own all of the rights in the Materials. You may not alter any of
EA's trademarks or logos, or alter or remove any of the trademark or copyright notices
included in the Materials. Your right to use Materials is limited to the license grant
above, and you may not otherwise copy, display, perform, publish, or use any of the
Materials. You may not modify, reverse engineer, disassemble, create derivative works
from, license, transfer, distribute, or sell any Materials, or use the Materials to
further any commercial or unlawful purpose. Without limiting the foregoing, you may
not use the Materials to sell advertising, to promote another product or business, or
on any site that operates or promotes a server emulator. You may not make the
Materials available by download from your Fan Site.
If you post the Materials on Fan Site, you must also post the following notice on your
Fan Site: "Trademarks are the property of Electronic Arts Inc. Game content and materials
copyright Electronic Arts Inc. All rights reserved." You will not represent that your
Fan Site is endorsed or approved by EA or that any other content on your Fan Site is
endorsed or approved by EA.
EA does not represent or warrant that you will be able to use any of the Materials. You
expressly agree that your use of the Materials is at your sole risk. The Materials are
provided on an "as is," "as available" basis. EA disclaims all implied warranties and
conditions, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of third party rights. EA assumes
no responsibility for any damages suffered by you. At EA's request, you agree to defend,
indemnify and hold harmless EA from all liabilities, claims and expenses, including
attorneys' fees, arising from any breach of this License by you.
EA makes the Materials available at its site located in the United States and/or Canada.
You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with all federal, state, and local
laws that may apply to your use of Materials in your own locale. By downloading the
Materials, you warrant that you are not located in any country, or exporting the
Materials to any person or place, to which the United States and/or Canada has embargoed
goods.
EA may terminate this License at any time. Upon termination, you must destroy or return
to EA all Materials. This License is governed by California law (without regard to

Welcome!
In an effort to support our fansites, we have created this special program which will give visitors to your site the following benefits.
* You will have updated news for your visitors directly from the creators of Red Alert 2 as soon as it is available.
* You will be added to Westwood's mailing list, and receive all press releases as soon as the magazines get them.
* You may qualify to have your site listed on the official Red Alert 2 site, which receives MANY tens of thousands of visitors weekly.
There are currently two levels of participation in this program...
OUTPOST SITES :
All Red Alert 2 Outpost sites are added to Westwood's press release mailing list (you'll get your information at the same time magazines such as GameSpot and Computer Gaming World get theirs). Outpost sites also have permission to post the official Red Alert 2 news applet on their page. This applet is updated by Westwood Studios and is the newest, most up-to-date information available on Red Alert 2. It will be a REALLY good thing to have for your visitors when we get close to the release date.
Outpost sites must observe the following rules.
1. Do not link to or promote any adult sites. This includes banner ads for adult sites.
2. Do not link to or promote any sites or information that provide or support hacking or pirating.
3. Do not link to or promote cheating within any Command & Conquer game in any way.
4. Place your Red Alert 2 News Kit on either your home page, or your main news page.
All graphic images created by Westwood Studios and released in this fan site kit remain the property of Westwood Studios. Westwood Studios at its sole discretion may ask that these images be removed from a website for any reason. By using the images in this fan site kit you agree to remove these images from your website if asked to do so by a representative from Westwood Studios.
COMMAND CENTER SITES :
Red Alert 2 Command Center sites must observe the above rules, but must also be primarily geared toward Red Alert 2. General gaming sites and sites which promote a variety of miscellaneous games are eligible to become outpost sites, but not Command Center sites.
To become a Command Center, you must :
1. Operate a Red Alert 2 oriented site with news, a message board, screenshots, and whatever else helps to make your site one of the best. In case you do not have a message board, we invite you to link to the official Red Alert 2 message board (English) at http://www.westwood.com/boards/ra2/english/index.html
2. Update your site at least once every week with news, screenshots, or some other "new" thing.
3. Tactical sites receive a listing on the official Red Alert 2 website at Westwood Studios, as well as the news banner, and all Westwood Studios press releases.
Sites that cannot become Command Center sites are those that cover a wide variety of games and are not Red Alert 2 oriented. With that said, here's what you need to do...
DON'T HAVE YOUR OWN WEBSITE?
We have found a number of website providers that will give you a free webpage so that you can make your own Red Alert 2 fan website. While we don't recommend one over another (there are so many), here are some of the largest ones...

NetColony http://www.netcolony.com
Xoom http://www.xoom.com
Cut and paste the text provided in the newskit.html file EXACTLY as it appears there and add place it in your webpage. Then, copy the files in the NEWSKIT subdirectory into the same directory on your web server that hosts the page which contains the HTML code you just cut and paste.
(for example, if you cut and paste the html code from newskit.html into a file called index.html on your web server, then you will want to copy all the graphic files into the same directory where your index.html resides.)
If you accidentally add linefeeds to the text, your graphics may appear disjointed. After the banner is in place, please write to virtualted@westwood.com and let me know your full name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. I'll verify that its up and working properly, and I'll add you to our press mailing list as well as add your site to our list of Red Alert 2 fansites if you have met all the requirements.
Your full mailing address is *VERY* important, as well as your phone number. Make sure you include this information as we will automatically enter you into any contests or special mailings that we send out exclusively for our fansite operators. (no one will phone you, but a phone # is required for UPS in the event we send something out.)
